Project Description
◆ Miyama Organic Farming Experience
Enjoy a hands-on organic farming experience in Miyama’s rich natural environment. Guided by Michel Kaiser, a French organic farmer living in Miyama, you will step into the fields, touch the soil, and learn how farming here is shaped by the seasons and by living in harmony with nature.
Rather than simply “visiting” the countryside, this experience lets you take part in real farm work and discover the everyday wisdom of satoyama life—simple, practical, and deeply connected to the land.
Activities may vary depending on the season and field conditions, but typically include:
• Harvesting seasonal vegetables
• Making organic “kuntan” (slow-burning rice husks to create charcoal)
• Learning organic farming tips and techniques
• Sowing herbs or vegetables (seasonal)
• Weeding (surprisingly enjoyable when done together)
Rainy Day Plan
If it rains, the program will be adjusted to activities inside a vinyl house (greenhouse), as outdoor work may not be possible.

This is a private, customizable experience. The content may be adjusted depending on the season, weather, and field conditions. For hygiene and safety reasons, each session is generally limited to one group.
Because arranging the instructor and preparing the program requires coordination, last-minute requests may not be possible. We recommend booking as early as you can.
