Miyama KAYA VILLA is a modern and immaculately clean newly built thatched-roof villa, available as a private rental. While preserving the timeless beauty of traditional thatched architecture, it also offers the comfort and functionality of contemporary living, creating a peaceful space where you can truly relax and reset.
The thatched roof of this villa was crafted using European construction techniques learned in the UK by the founder, Haruo Nishio. Unlike traditional Japanese methods, this roof reflects a different structure and aesthetic, carrying the spirit of craftsmanship and the philosophy behind the work.
The bathroom features a bathtub made from high-quality hinoki (Japanese cypress). The moment you step into the hot water, the rich natural aroma fills the air and gently relaxes both body and mind, washing away fatigue in complete silence and comfort.
On the second floor, you can experience the beauty of the thatched roof structure up close. From the bedroom with a double bed and a single bed, you can enjoy breathtaking sunset views through the windows, turning every evening into a memorable moment.
The villa is located beside the clear waters of the Yura River, with a charming bridge creating a picturesque view. Because it sits in a quiet, secluded part of the village, you can enjoy complete privacy and immerse yourself in the rural scenery and star-filled night skies without meeting anyone.
A wide open lawn spreads out in front of the villa. Here, you can lay down a picnic mat, set up a pop-up tent, relax with a leisure sheet, or even enjoy early morning yoga. With no one around, you are free to enjoy the space as your own private outdoor retreat.
To ensure you can safely lie down and relax on the grass, no chemical agents are used for lawn care. The lawn is carefully maintained by local women who gently remove weeds by hand, keeping the area naturally clean and comfortable.
The lawn area is also perfect for a private BBQ. Dining outdoors in the fresh air, surrounded by peaceful nature, becomes an unforgettable part of your stay.
Miyama KAYA VILLA welcomes guests traveling with dogs. Thanks to the quiet surroundings and private setting, you can relax and enjoy meaningful time with your dog without worrying about other people.
The interior flooring is finished with tiles and equipped with heat-storage floor heating. In summer, the tiles feel pleasantly cool, and in winter, the warmth rises gently from below, providing year-round comfort.
From the terrace, you can enjoy expansive views of the lawn and the surrounding landscape. You may hear birds singing, watch the sunset, and admire a sky full of stars at night. In June, fireflies appear from the river, creating a magical atmosphere. Even on rainy days, simply sitting on the terrace and watching the scenery brings deep peace and calm.
Located near the center of Miyama, KAYA VILLA is an excellent base for exploring local sightseeing spots and cultural attractions. It offers both active travel convenience and the quiet comfort of a secluded retreat, making it perfect for longer stays.
Here, you can step away from everyday noise and information overload, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself. The rural landscape, flowing river, sunset skies, starry nights, and the presence of the thatched roof transform your stay into something truly special.
