Project Description

The true charm of Hotaruan is not only the house itself.
The property spans approximately 8,500 square meters, embraced by a spacious garden and a quiet forested hillside behind the house. Here, the changing seasons become part of the experience.

In spring, cherry blossoms bloom in full glory, and birdsong fills the crisp morning air.
In the surrounding rice fields, frogs begin to sing, and the village slowly awakens with the sounds of life returning.

In summer, the greenery deepens, and in June, fireflies dance along the nearby river.
Their soft lights floating in the darkness create a scene of rare beauty—one that can only be found in places like this.

Autumn brings vibrant colors to the garden, and fruit ripens in the orchard.
Persimmons, yuzu, and seasonal harvests remind you of nature’s rhythm and the quiet richness of rural life.

In winter, the scenery transforms into a world of snow.
The sight of snow resting on the thatched roof feels almost like stepping into an old Japanese folktale.

Enjoying a cup of coffee in the garden on a quiet morning,
or taking an evening walk along the hillside trail and breathing in the forest air—
these simple moments become the greatest refreshment.

Hotaruan is an ideal place not only for short getaways, but also for long stays
